CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Central Luzon residents are now required to wear face masks or other protective gears when leaving their homes to buy essential commodities.
This was the reminder of Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia on April 15 explaining that the directive is being carried out pursuant to the pronouncement of President Duterte and Resolution No. 18 of the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.
On Wednesday, a total of 1,001 persons regionwide were warned by the police for not wearing face masks.
“We enjoin the public to adhere to the guidelines on the wearing of face masks and protective gears as well as the observance of social distancing. Stiff penalties of one to six months of imprisonment or a fine of P20,000 to 50,000, or both will be imposed on violators,” Sermonia added.
“We are doing the best we can together with all the frontliners to contain the continuous spread of coronavirus disease, time and again, we call out to the public to also do their share by following authorities and staying in their homes,” he said.
