OLONGAPO CITY – The Zambales and Bataan provincial police offices and the Olongapo City Police Office recently presented assorted confiscated firearms to Police Regional Office 3 regional director Brig. Gen. Rhodel Semonia as among their accomplishments pursuant to the Simultaneous Anti- Criminality Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO) at Rizal Triangle here.
Zambales police director Col. Ponce Rogelio Peñones, Jr. reported that from Jan. 20-26, a total of 44 operations were conducted resulting to the arrest of 76 individuals.
The campaign against wanted persons yielded a total of 29 persons arrested, 11 of whom were categorized under most wanted persons and 18 under other wanted persons. Among the arrested were the Top 4 and Top 9 most wanted on the provincial level.
In the campaign against illegal drugs, a total of 11 drug personalities were arrested. Eight of whom were arrested through buy-bust operations and three in the implementation of search warrants. Among the arrested was the Top 1 on the Zambales PPO list and the Top 2 provincial level of PDEA.
The said anti-drug operations resulted to the confiscation of 52 plastic sachets of shabu with a total weight 33.894 grams, six plastic sachets of marijuana with a total weight of 30.28 grams, and cash amounting to P86,070.
Twelve persons were arrested for illegal gambling, 14 for illegal fishing, two for illegal logging, and eight for other police interventions.
The campaign against loose firearms yielded a total of 11 firearms and a grenade. Olongapo City police director Col. Benjamin Sembrano reported that SACLEO resulted to the arrest of 45 individuals: 23 for illegal drugs, eight for various crimes, 11 for illegal gambling. Also, two firearms – an M1 Garand and a .38 revolver – were confiscated, and 73 sachets of shabu weighing 75.57 grams estimated to cost P176,300 were seized. In anti-gambling operation, P2,030 cash bets and several gambling paraphernalia were recovered.
The campaign against terrorism resulted to the surrender of two rebels.
In Bataan province, 269 firearms were recovered; 60 wanted persons, 19 drug pushers, and six illegal fishers were arrested during the implementation of SACLEO.
