A radiant celebration of Kapampangan creativity unfolded at the Philippine International Furniture Show at the SMX Convention Center Manila, where fashion and furniture converged in a runway showcase titled Kariktan.

The event highlighted the refined craftsmanship and design excellence of Pampanga’s leading designers and manufacturers, placing the province’s artistry at the forefront of the national stage.

In a strong show of support for the local creative industry, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos joined Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Nanay Partylist Representative Florabel Yatco, Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, Board Member Fritzie David Dizon, Board Member Atty. Claire David Lim, and CDC Director Atty. Nicolette Henson as they toured the exhibition and witnessed the fashion presentation.

Arroyo lauded the participating Kapampangan talents, emphasizing the “elegance, beauty, and splendor” reflected in both the garments and furniture pieces presented during the showcase.

Kariktan, a furniture-fashion presentation featuring Kapampangan creatives, brought together a compelling roster of designers.

In fashion, the showcase featured the works of Mak Tumang, Philip Torres, Ditta Sandico, Frederick Policarpio, Marlon Tuazon, Mich Viray, Adrian Sahagun, and Rhon Balagtas, each presenting creations that reflected the distinct artistry and evolving design language of Kapampangan couture.

Meanwhile, Pampanga’s furniture industry was represented by JB Woodcraft Inc., Albero, Calfurn Manufacturing Philippines, Las Palmas Furniture, Philiana Design, Prizmic and Brill, A. Garcia Crafts, South Sea Veneer, and Venzon Lighting, showcasing masterfully crafted pieces that blend functionality with refined aesthetics.

The initiative is a collaboration between the Pampanga Provincial Government and the Arts, Culture and Tourism Office of Pampanga, in partnership with the Pampanga Furniture Industries Foundation (PFIF) and Global-Link MP, with creative direction by Robby Carmona.

Through Kariktan, Pampanga once again affirmed its place as a cradle of design excellence where tradition, craftsmanship, and contemporary vision meet in a celebration of form, function, and cultural pride.
