The Provincial Government of Pampanga continues to strengthen its commitment to clean and efficient waste management through the distribution of 29 mini dump trucks to various local government units (LGUs) at the Capitol Grounds, July 21.

This initiative aims to improve the collection and transport of solid waste, especially in remote or underserved barangays across the province.

The project is aligned with the goals of Republic Act No. 9003, or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000, as well as the 2022–2031 Provincial Solid Waste Management Plan of Pampanga. These vehicles are expected to boost the operational capacity of LGUs in implementing regular and segregated waste collection.

Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda led the ceremonial turnover of mini dump trucks, together with Acting Vice Governor Kaye Naguit, Macabebe Mayor Bobong Flores, Floridablanca Mayor Michael Galang, Arayat Mayor Jeffrey Luriz, and Guagua Vice Mayor Jun Lim.

“The Capitol is funding these vehicles for our barangays, and they’re meant for you. Please take care of the dump trucks assigned to markets and barangays for waste collection,” said Nanay Gov.

Also present were punong barangay from Lubao, Floridablanca, Guagua, Magalang, Sta. Ana, Masantol, Minalin, Macabebe, Apalit, Arayat, and Candaba.

For Kap Alan Ramos of Don Ignacio Dimson, Lubao, the new truck is a major upgrade:

“Thank you so much for this mini dump truck. This is a big help to us since we used to rely only on a makeshift chariot. Now, we’ve truly leveled up.”

In addition to the dump trucks, the Capitol also turned over a new ambulance to the Pampanga Provincial Police Office, which was warmly received by Provincial Director Col. Eugene Marcelo.

The initiative was made possible through the coordination of PG-ENRO Head Engr. Arthur Punsalan, GSO Chief Francis Maslog, and other key provincial and barangay officials — all working together toward a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Pampanga.
