7 minors rescued from traffickers in AC

ANGELES CITY — Combined elements of the Angeles City Social Welfare and Development Office, the Regional Anti-Trafficking in Persons Task Group 3, and Police Regional Office 3 rescued seven minors from two alleged traffickers in Barangay Pampang here on June 18. 

The rescuing team swooped down the premises of Block 4, Lot 4, Paran Garden Village, Barangay Pampang where the victims, all female aged 12 to 19, were rescued. Six of them have addresses in the city while one is from nearby Porac town.  

Charges for violation of RA 9208 (Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003) are being readied against the two suspected traffickers identified as alias “Ash,” female, 16 years old and a resident of Barangay Cutud; and alias “Lia,” female, and resident of Barangay Pulungbulu.

Medical personnel of the Child Protection Unit of the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center, headed by Dr. Froilan Canlas, conducted the medico legal of the said minors.

The seven rescued minors are now in the care of the Angeles City Social Welfare and Development Office.
