IBA, Zambales (PIA) — A total of 75 individuals in Zambales received livelihood kits from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) this year under the Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG).
It is a livelihood seeding and entrepreneurship development program which aims to support micro enterprises affected by natural calamities or health disasters to restart their businesses.
DTI Zambales Business Development Division Chief Marilou Arcega said recipients in the province include small business owners who were severely affected by the pandemic and recent tropical disturbances, individuals who lost their jobs during the pandemic, and former rebels.
“Through PPG, DTI Zambales has awarded livelihood kits worth P10,000 each beneficiary from 10 towns and one city,” he added.
They received different livelihood kits tailored to their business needs such as sari-sari stores, handicrafts making, carinderia, yema-pastillas, shanghai rolls, and puto-kutsinta.
Also, kakanin making, bakery, macrame crafts, soft broom making, furniture making and souvenir making.
The agency continuously monitors the recipients to see if the kits have helped their business. (CLJD/RGP-PIA 3)
