GAPAN CITY — Twelve people were arrested for allegedly playing domino and bingo games amid quarantine restrictions in Purok 1, Barangay Maburak here at around 5 p.m. Tuesday.
City police chief Lt. Col. Alexie Desamito identified those arrested for playing domino as Guillermo Marquez, 49; Benedicto Cabling, 45, driver; Marvin Marque, 27, driver; and Arman Henson, 24, driver.
Nabbed for playing bingo were Magielyn Lodivico, 32; Mariane Andasan, 28; Marilou Dupilas, 24; Ma. Theresa Abesamis, 50; Joana Valenzuela, 45; Analyn Cabling, 31; Michelle Bernabe, 25; and Christopher Cabling y Bernabe, 38.
All those arrested are residents of the said village, police reported.
Desamito said the suspects were “caught in the act of playing illegal gambling (domino and bingo games).”
Police seized from the suspects one set of mahjong tiles, bingo cards, bulito and bet money worth P3,100, Desamito said in her report to Nueva Ecija police director Col. Rhoderick Campo.
Charges of violating Presidential Decree 1602 were leveled against the suspects before the City Prosecutor’s Office.
