Zambales hosts CLRAA meet

IBA, Zambales – The annual Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association (CLRAA) meet started Sunday at the Zambales Sports Center here with 20 delegations from the region’s seven provinces and 14 cities consisting thousands of athletes.

DepEd Zambales division superintendent Dr. Romeo Alip said that a parade of the delegations opened the meet. The athletes, students from elementary and high school, will be housed in different school campuses within the towns of Iba and nearby Botolan.

The athletes will compete in the diff erent fields of sports during the five-day event.

Senior Supt. Felix Verbo inspected several school campuses where the delegates will be housed to ensure their safety. A security plan was established as early as Friday to ensure that “the athletes and guests will not be compromised in any untoward incident.”

The Philippine National Red Cross-Zambales Chapter put up tents for their emergency plans within the area and have assigned 143 volunteers in every school campus where the athletes are billeted to ensure their safety.
