Vice gov bet shot to death

    CABANGAN, Zambales – It was his last coffee break.

    A vice gubernatorial candidate in Zambales was gunned down by two unidentified killers in Barangay Mabanglit, here in broad day light on Sunday.

    Police identified the victim as Willie Viloria, 44, and resident of the said place. He is an independent candidate for vice governor here.

    Report said that at about 10:30 a.m., while the victim was having a coffee break at his residence when two unidentified suspect arrived and peppered him with bullets.

    The victim died on the spot due to multiple gunshot wounds on his head and different parts of his body from caliber a .45 pistol and caliber .38 revolver.

    “Doon sa inisyal na imbestigasyon namin matapos na mapatay yung biktima ay pumasok pa ang mga suspek sa loob ng bahay at may hinahanap na bag”, said Inspector Jose Arca, Cabangan police chief.

    Report also showed the suspect carted away P500,000, alleged campaign funds of the victim for his candidacy.

    Report added that the victim had previous death threats before he decided to run for vice governor in Zambales.

    The Zambales Police and Criminal Investigation and Detention Team led by Chief Inspector Rogelio Peñones, Jr. are still conducting investigation to the identity of suspects.
