IBA, Zambales –– The provincial health office here confirmed Thursday the first Covid-19 case in Zambales.
In an official statement signed by Dr. Noel Bueno, Provincial Health Officer 2, the patient is a 73-year-old male US Navy retiree and resident of Barangay San Gregorio, San Antonio town
The patient reportedly frequently travelled from Cavite and Manila and returned to Zambales on March 15. He developed fever and diarrhea on March 16 and sought medical consultation at Our Lady of Lourdes International Medical Center in Olongapo City and later was referred to the President Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Hospital in Iba town.
He is currently under strict observation and monitoring at home and contact tracing is still going on. Dr. Bueno encourage everyone to strictly comply with social distancing, proper personal hygiene, and cough etiquette.
