CABANATUAN CITY – “Magdalena,” 37, has found herself in deep trouble after she allegedly offered cash and sex favors to a police officer in exchange of the freedom of a relative who was arrested for drug pushing, police reported on Thursday.
The woman from Barangay Rizdelis here is now in detention facing charges of violation of Article 212 of Revised Penal Code (Corruption of Public Official) for allegedly offering P15,000 and sexual intercourse to PO3 Crizaldy Juat, a member of the Community Precinct Action Center 513 on Saturday, according to Supt. Eli Depra, city police chief.
Depra said Magdalena went to the Compac station in Plaza Lucero this city at about 10:15 a.m. Saturday while charges were being prepared against her cousin Allan Bondoc and a certain Raymund Dela Cruz who reportedly fell in a buy-bust operation conducted by the lawmen Friday afternoon.
“She put on the table P15,000 cash and offered sex to our investigator,” Depra said. The woman allegedly said she can engage into a daily intercourse with the lawman should he cause dropping of the charges against Bondoc.
“She earned the ire of our man with this offer and arrested her,” Depra said.
Juat filed the corruption of public official charges against the woman before the City prosecutor’s office docketed as NPS-No. III-05-INQ-13-B-00117 under inquest Prosecutor Melvin Martinez.
The suspect refused to comment on charges against her. She, however, appealed for understanding on what she was going through.
Fellow detainees said the woman started to cry all night when she saw her 17-year-old son, along with two others, also being hauled to adjacent detention facility over allegation of carnapping.
Her teenaged son was reportedly caught on Feb. 26 in possession of a carnapped motorcycle owned by a certain Henry Pranilla, 29, of San Jose City at about 6:p.m. in Barangay Bitas here.
