ANGELES CITY – “Driven by confidence and compassion that is the mark of The Medical City’s services.”
Thus said yesterday former Health Secretary Dr. Alfredo R.A. Bengzon as he led the opening of The Medical City-Angeles branch in Barangay Sto. Cristo here yesterday.
He is the president and CEO of The Medical City (TMC), whose main hospital is in Pasig City.
Bengzon said they want to involve the community in running the 50-bed hospital. He added that the hospital’s logo shows group hands’ raised and held together to signify oneness and solidarity.
Bengzon also said their staff members – from doctors to janitors – are expected to deliver “personalize service.”
For his part, Mayor Edgardo D. Pamintuan said “since you treat your patients as partners, we hope that you can also partner with the city government of Angeles in developing and improving its own public health care program facilities.
“Angeles City today is booming. We are not seeing just a facelift, but a total makeover of this city, thanks to the confidence of the private sector,” said Pamintuan, who was also welcomed by Dr. Augusto Sarmiento, The Medical City chairman of the board.
The hospital offers a wide range of services, including laboratory, imaging, internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics-gynecology, pediatrics, cardiology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics and physical medicine and rehabilitation
“TMC-Angeles helps fulfill our commitment to bring cutting-edge, quality health care to more Filipinos through our national expansion strategy,” said Bengzon. They have outpatients clinic in Dagupan, Olongapo City, Iloilo and a hospital branches at Ilolilo City and the Clark Freeport.
Bengzon said The TMC-Clark is under construction and set to begin operation by January 2013.
TMC Strategic Services Group head Margaret Bengzon and TMC-Angeles Medical Director Dr. Ronald Campos also graced the blessing and inauguration of the hospital.
