Under the agreement, there will be an exchange student program as well as for faculty and staff. It also calls for a joint academic programs, manpower training needed in the field of related industries, and cooperation in teaching materials and curriculum among others.
Ma. Felisa “Leigh” Jocson, vice president of JC, and Yong Seok Park, president of CHSU, signed the agree – ment at the executive office of JC.
CHSU is considered as one of the top 10 universities in South Korea based on the information from the Korean Ministry of Education.
A short program followed at the college theater after the signing of the agreement where JC students performed folk dances and a welcome song composed by noted gos pel songwriter Cris Cadiang and per – formed by the students and faculty led by Jocson and Cadiang.
As a finale, Jocson gave her own rendition of the song “Home,” to the delight of the Korean guests.
Jocson said the song sang by Diana Ross in 1981 “is a very meaning – ful song hoping to bring back the trust of CHSU to the Philippines through JC which was lost during their negative experience with a Benguet state university years ago.”
Also in attendance aside from Jocson and Yong were CHSU executives Kim Je Young and Choi Min Kyu, City Councilor Jericho Aguas, JC president Felicitas Manalang, JC international liaison officer Andy Kim, theater art director Jason Pabalan and JC public relations advisor Jay Pelayo.
