SM OPERATION TULONG EXPRESS (OPTE) GIVES JOY TO BRGY. STA. FE, ZAMBALES

Residents of Brgy. Sta. Fe in San Marcelino, Zambales were extremely grateful to SM for bringing help through distribution of Kalinga packs. On August 07, SM volunteer employees headed by SM City Olongapo Central Mall Manager Engr. Ariel Ferrer, together with PR Manager Nette Mortel, Building Admin Manager Mark Anthony Lerma, security and agency personnel travelled to barangay Sta. Fe for the distribution of Kalinga packs to afflicted families.  

Many of those severely affected by the Super Typhoon “Egay” are still trying to rebuild their lives, and is more challenging for people in isolated area like Brgy. Sta Fe. To help fast-track recovery, SM Foundation, Inc. and SM Supermalls through Operation Tulong Express (OPTE) distributed 320 Kalinga Packs. This activity was done jointly by SM with the assistance of the Municipal government of San Marcelino Zambales, headed by Mayor Elmer Soria.

The distribution of Kalinga packs which is comprised of rice, noodles, bottled water, and canned goods was made possible through the help of MDRRMO, MSWD, Barangay Sta. Fe officials, Phil Army, and other health volunteers.

Mayor Soria expressed gratitude to SM for the assistance they extended to his constituents.

Santa Fe is a barangay in the municipality of San Marcelino, in the province of Zambales. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 2,128. This represented 5.64% of the total population of San Marcelino.

To fulfill its “Supporting Communities” promise, SM Foundation serves communities through outreach initiatives like this, as well as provide customers nationwide with relevant and helpful services.
