ANGELES CITY – “A more complete hospital will best serve the poor people of Angeles.”

Thus said Councilor Jay Sangil as he announced his project to put up a computerized axial tomography (CT) scan center at the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center (RLMMC).

Sangil said he had recently visited a CT scan center at the Clark Freeport to help him craft a city council resolution beneficial to indigent patients and residents.

In last Tuesday’s council session, Sangil said his resolution urging the establishment of a CT scan at the RLMMC was approved.

“With Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan at the helm, all the equipment needed by the hospital are being brought in and set up one after the other,” said Sangil.

“I go out of my way to make other projects in support of the pro-poor programs of the mayor,” added the three-term councilor.

Sangil disclosed that people pay “as much as P10,000” for a CT scan service in private hospitals.

He said his project will give at least 50 percent discount on CT scan services at the RLMMC. Sangil said it will be similar to the Renal Care Project established by Pamintuan last year. It benefited their constituents, mostly the poor ones.

“The middle class and upper class residents of Angeles City would also appreciate the establishment of such a facility just like the newly established Angeles City Renal Care Unit, since they would eventually also benefit from it when their need for said services arises,” part of Sangil’s resolution said.
