City of San Fernando, Pampanga –

On May 23, 2024, the SM City Pampanga Event Center was abuzz with elegance and innovation as the Department of Trade and Industry – Region 3 (DTI-3) successfully hosted “PUSTURA: Central Luzon’s Fashion Show.” This landmark event, part of DTI’s commitment to the Philippine Creative Industries Development Act (PCIDA) or RA 11904, under the brand “Fiesta Haraya,” showcased the finest fashion talents from across Central Luzon.

The event highlighted the creativity and craftsmanship of twenty (24) local designers from the seven provinces of the region, presenting an array of stunning collections that blended traditional Filipino aesthetics with modern trends. Attendees were treated to an exquisite display of gowns, Filipiniana, barong, bags, jewelry, and other fashion accessories, and footwear. Each piece told a unique story, reflecting the deep cultural roots and innovative spirit that define Central Luzon’s creative industries.

DTI-3 OIC Regional Director Brigida T. Pili, during her welcome remarks, emphasized the significance of the fashion show in promoting regional talents and preserving cultural heritage. She noted, “In Central Luzon, we are immensely proud of our agricultural bounty, but today we celebrate another facet of our region—its vibrant creative spirit. Our designers and craftsmen bring to life the colors, textures, and stories of our heritage through their exquisite creations.”

Gracing the event is Philippine Fashion Icon, Madam Renee Salud. In her keynote message, she encouraged the local designers to continue pursuing their craft. “To succeed, you must have faith in your abilities, set both short and long-term goals, and exercise self-discipline. Remember to stay humble, maintain your integrity, and stay optimistic,” she advised.

The PUSTURA event also featured networking opportunities, live performances, and insights into the latest trends in the fashion industry, providing a comprehensive platform for local entrepreneurs to thrive and gain exposure. The fashion show not only promoted the region’s creative talents but also aimed to inspire a new generation of designers and artisans to pursue excellence in their craft.
