PALAYAN CITY – Amid the pandemic, pregnant women within Nueva Ecija’s third congressional district receive bags of baby essentials from the “Alagang Ina” program of Rep. Ria Vergara amid pandemic.
Beneficiaries of the program are moms to–be in their seventh to ninth month of pregnancy.
Vergara’s office said they had to course the distribution through barangay health centers considering that pregnant women are in the list of high-risk individuals of being infected with the coronavirus disease.
“Ito ay isang programa na mula sa personal na pondo ni Cong. Ria at sinimulan pa taong 2015. Mga 7-9 months pregnant mommies ang nabigyan ng simpleng handog na naglalaman ng mga gamit para sa kanilang mga isisilang na anak,” an announcement from the congresswoman’s office read.
It added that “Alagang Ina” will continue in all towns and cities within the third district with the assistance of local health offices.
