Mayor Gene dela Fuente, Methodist pastor Dante delos Santos and some other religious ministers led in the activities at the town plaza fronting the municipal hall.
Dela Fuente said they were one with the President in the war against illegal drugs, criminality and corruption. “Sana mawala na rin ang kahirapan,” she said.
There were no fiery speeches for the night ala-EDSA but solemn prayers as the candles were lighted.
The mayor transferred the light of her candle to members of the police and Bureau of Fire Protection, municipal government employees, students, senior citizens, barangay health workers and other sectors.
