BALANGA CITY – Bataan police on Tuesday dawn arrested two suspects who yielded seven kilos of suspected dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops in Orion town.

Senior Supt. Audie Atienza, Bataan police director, identified the suspects as Jayson Albo, 23, native of Ifugao, Mt. Province presently residing in Limay, Bataan and Pelvie Fred, 27, of Kibungan, Benguet.

“As of this time, masasabi na significant accomplishment itong Philippine National Police sa Bataan. We are looking forward na may mas malaki pa rito ang makuha namin,” the provincial police chief said.

Chief Insp. Elmer Santiago, head of the provincial intelligence branch (PIB), said the confiscation was the biggest illegal drug haul so far recorded in Bataan.

Atienza said the arrest of the suspects was a result of long planning and continuous operation. Albo was the first to fall. He was nabbed during a pot session at a vacant lot in barangay Puting Buhangin, Orion.

Operatives from the PIB, PIDMB, provincial police safety offi ce and the Orion municipal police station confiscated from the suspect 125 grams of dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops.

Convinced by intelligence agent SPO2 Arnold Flores, Albo pointed to Fred as his alleged source of the illegal drugs and for the second suspect to bring the drugs in Puting Buhangin in exchange for a big sum of money.

In the following drug buy-bust operation, police nabbed Fred in the act of selling to a poseur- buyer the illegal drugs. Confiscated from him were seven bricks of dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops, Atienza said.

Also confiscated from the second suspect were 32 pieces of P1,000-bill marked money used in the deal.

Fred said the stuff came from Baguio City. Police are readying a case for violation of Section 5 and 11 of the Dangerous Comprehensive Drugs Act against the suspects.
