CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA— The provincial government expressed on Monday its full support on the implementation of the National Advocacy Campaign, ‘Disiplina Muna’ of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

This was gleaned during the flag raising ceremony at the Capitol Grounds, here.

Mark Salonga, DILG Pampanga focal person, urged the department heads of the Capitol and employees, and all local government units (LGUs) in the province to enforce the said campaign in their respective offices.

“Gusto po ng ating presidente at ng DILG na magsimula po ang pagbabago sa ating mga sarili. There has to be change in our belief system or discipline and strict enforcement of the law to become the norm—only then we’ll experience change that’s profound and long lasting,” he said.

This was followed by an oath-taking which is aimed at fulfilling the goals of the campaign.

It can be recalled that the ‘Disiplina Muna’ advocacy campaign was launched in October 2019.

DILG Pampanga Director Myrvi Fabia said that ‘Disiplina Muna’ further strengthens the efforts and actions of the provincial government in intensifying the programs and policies of the DILG aligned with the campaign’s pillars that focus on road clearing, disaster preparedness and resilience, anti-smoking, ease of doing business, liquor ban, tourists spots clean-up, and functional Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC).

Fabia also commended Governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda for his immediate action in responding to the Batangueños’ call for help during the eruptions of the Taal Volcano in Batangas.

“Si Governor isang malaking modelo—nang pumunta siya doon sa Taal, nandoon talaga yung volunteerism niya to really help our brothers and sisters,” she asserted.

DILG Pampanga is primarily launching the campaign through raising awareness during flag ceremonies, legal conventions, and government-wide events.

Meanwhile, some of the program’s Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials also include social media platforms and installation of tarpaulins used for the dissemination of the general hashtag ‘Disiplina Muna’.
