CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — The Provincial Government of Pampanga continues to promote youth participation in nation-building by supporting programs that foster patriotism, civic engagement, and a deeper appreciation of national issues.

Local officials said empowering young Filipinos through meaningful activities helps prepare them to become responsible citizens and future leaders who contribute to the country’s development.

The message was highlighted during the “Waves of Rock: Battle of the Bands,” which gathered young musicians in commemoration of the 10th West Philippine Sea Victory Day.

Pampanga 2nd District Provincial Board Member Claire Lim said involving the youth in government-led initiatives enables them to better understand issues affecting the country while encouraging active participation in nation-building.

“Kapag iniinvolve mo ang kabataan, nagkakaroon sila ng partisipasyon. Isa itong mahalagang event na pinagtitibay ang ating karapatan sa ating teritoryo,” Lim said.

She added that sustained information dissemination is essential in helping future generations appreciate the significance of the country’s sovereign rights.

“Kailangan mapalawak ang impormasyon tungkol sa ating laban at ma-educate ang mga kabataan. Isa itong bagay na dapat ipagpatuloy hindi lamang ng kasalukuyang henerasyon kundi ng mga susunod pa.”

Lim said the provincial government remains committed to supporting initiatives that encourage civic participation and strengthen love of country among the youth.

Meanwhile, Provincial Sangguniang Kabataan Federation President John Carlo Cruz said young Filipinos should recognize that they already play an important role in shaping the nation’s future.

“We are not merely the leaders of tomorrow; we are active stakeholders of our nation today,” Cruz said.

He encouraged the youth to remain informed about issues affecting the country and use their talents and platforms to inspire patriotism and national unity.

The provincial government’s support for youth-centered initiatives complements the Bagong Pilipinas thrust of empowering young Filipinos as active partners in governance, civic responsibility, and nation-building while fostering a stronger sense of patriotism and national identity.
