CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – “Labs po natin ang ating mga lola at lolo.”
Thus, Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda slugged a post in his Facebook page of the provincial government’s distribution of the P100,000 one-time cash assistance to senior citizens aged 95 years old and up.
Pineda said the number of beneficiaries of the program has nearly tripled from last year’s 45 to 125 as of Sept. 15 this year, per record of the provincial social welfare office.
The allotment also increased threefold, from P4.5 million in 2020 to P12.5 million this year.
The P100,000 one-time cash assistance program for the elderly is mandated under Provincial Ordinance No. 683 that was passed by the sangguniang panlalawigan at the time of Gov. Lilia “Nanay” G. Pineda who initiated the crafting of the measure herself.
Provincial board members have been tasked, along with the PSWDO, to personally deliver the checks to the beneficiaries in their respective residences.
“Hindi po matutumbasan ng pera ang papel ng ating mga lolo at lola sa pag-aaruga ng pamilya, pagpapa-aral ng mga mga anak, at pag-unlad ng ating ekonomiya,” the governor wrote in his post.
“Dispu. Dakal salamat pu. Luguran ta la reng matua tamu,” he enthused.
