THESE NUMBERS are deeply concerning, and we should never dismiss the real struggles behind them.
Here in Pampanga, some businesses have been forced to suspend operations. Others, including us, cannot operate at full capacity because of logistical challenges. Roads remain impassable, preventing some employees from reporting for work, and when they cannot work, the income their families depend on is also affected.
Our customers are affected as well. Some cannot open their stores or receive deliveries, while others struggle with limited stocks, fewer customers, and rising operating costs. When one part of the business chain is disrupted, the effects are felt by everyone, from producers and employees to distributors, retailers, and the families they serve.
Yet amid these difficult circumstances, I have witnessed something more powerful than pessimism.
Small, medium, and large businesses have answered the call of the Ripple of Hope. Even while facing their own challenges, they continue to share food, resources, time, and compassion with communities in need.
Helping others should not happen only when business is good and the environment is comfortable. The true heart of an enterprise is revealed during difficult times, when resources are limited and uncertainty is high, yet we still choose to care.
To my fellow businessmen and entrepreneurs: let us keep going.
Not because the road ahead is easy, but because our families, employees, customers, business partners, and communities are counting on us. Every business that remains standing protects livelihoods. Every job preserved sustains a family. Every customer we continue to serve helps another business survive. Every act of generosity gives someone the courage to face another day.
We may not be able to move at full capacity, but we must continue moving forward…with faith, courage, compassion, and hope.
We have survived difficult seasons before. By standing together, supporting one another, and refusing to surrender to fear, we will overcome this season too.

Keep the faith. Keep serving. Keep moving forward. The darkest numbers must never be allowed to define the strength of the Filipino spirit.
