CABANATUAN CITY – This city has recorded its first death from coronavirus disease 2019 in a 90-year-old woman whose infection was confirmed on Thursday, July 30.
The deceased from Barangay Daan Sarile here has been cremated, according to the city information and tourism office as it expressed its condolences: “Nakikiramay po ang pamahalaang lungsod sa pamilya at mga kaanak ng namatay na Covid-19 patient.“
She was the eldest of the nine latest confirmed cases reported by the CITO.
The other new Covid-19 patients here include a 69-year-old woman from Barangay Caridad who had cough and sore throat, an asymptomatic 44-year-old woman from Bantug Norte, and another woman, 59-year-old resident of Barangay Aduas Sir who also was asymptomatic and got no history of travel.
Two female vendors at Sangitan Public Market are among new cases: a 31-year-old resident of Magsaysay Sur and a 35-year-old resident of Barangay Pamaldan.
The other new COVID cases were an 18-year-old asymptomatic man from Barangay Aduas Sur, a 22-year-old government employee who had severe cough from Aduas Norte, and a 24-year-old female bank employee from Barangay Buliran, according to the CITO.
The city government urged the public to always follow minimum public health standards to prevent the spread of the virus: “Maging disiplinado at responsible. Ang bawat isa ay may mahalagang papel na gagampanan sa ating laban kontra Covid-19. Maraming salamat po.“
