ANGELES CITY – The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has put its emergency resources on standby for immediate mobilization in areas to be affected by Typhoon Rosita.

Ernest Lorenz Vidal, NGCP regional communications chief, said all measures have also been undertaken to minimize typhoon damage to his firm’s facilities that distribute electricity to Northern and Central Luzon which are expected to be affected by the typhoon.

“The preparations include putting our communications capabilities on full gear, readiness of all tools and equipment for repair of damaged power facilities, and the pre-positioning of line crews ready to be fielded where they would be needed,” Vidal said.

He said all these measures are stipulated in the Integrated Disaster Action Plan (IDAP) of NGCP to ensure maximum capabilities in the face of calamities.

Vidal noted that NGCP also has an Overall Disaster Command Center which monitor its emergency operations so as to ensure that damaged facilities are restored to it clients as soon as possible.
