New Clark projects to create 13-T jobs

    CLARK FREEPORT – New projects in this world class Freeport are expected to generate at least 13,737 additional jobs.

    In a press statement, Clark Development Corporation (CDC) President Benigno N. Ricafort said that out of the 164 projects approved in 2008, 65 were newly-signed projects while the other 22 are new expansion projects. The remaining 77 projects are renewal of contracts and memoranda of understanding.

    Total number of investments have reached more than P14 billion in the previous year from the 164 projects.

    Ricafort said the combined investments of the 65 newly-signed projects and the 22 expansion programs of locators here totaled P13.11 billion.

    However, Ricafort said that the initial P13.11 billion investment is expected to increase to P14.12 billion on the fifth year.

    Clark now has 57,790 workers. The CDC president said the increase in employment statistics had breached the 57,000 mark for Clark workers.
