CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The second batch of graduate school students from the Don Honorio Ventura State University in Bacolor received their financial assistance from 2nd District board member Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab on Monday at the school’s gymnasium.

The provincial legislator gave financial assistance to 12 new beneficiaries as part of her support program to help teachers earn their masteral degrees.  Pineda said that few assistance programs are available for students taking up graduate school degrees.

“We support graduate school students because of the fact that there are very few scholarships and financial assistance out there for post-graduate studies.  We need to enable more teachers to gain new skills and widen their career direction,” Pineda-Cayabyab said.

The assistance aims to ease the financial strains on the part of students. The lady legislator said that to support graduate school student means to support the development of a more competent teaching force and their career development.

The financial assistance program is open to graduate school students from the second district towns of Sasmuan, Santa Rita, Lubao, Porac, Floridablanca, and Guagua. Students need to maintain satisfactory grades to qualify in the program.

Interested students may inquire with the DHVSU Graduate School for other details of the application process.
