The stars must have aligned when the dark and good looking Omar  (Ryan)   Farhan meet the beautiful and statuesque Mary Hyacinth (Bisay) Zalamea. They were introduced by friends in the airline industry, Bisay is flight attendant for Etihad Airways in Abu Dhabi and Ryan is a Chef for Lufthansa Airlines in Germany. After the initial introductions, it was a whirlwind of meetings in foreign lands and dates in the most exotic places in Europe. It was only natural for the two of them to fall head over heels for each other. But this grew out of respect, friendship and love.

Having been an item for two years they decided to tie the knot here in the Philippines as they both wanted to have their families present on their special day. Ryan’s mom is Ms. Editha Perez Diasanta  while Bisay is the only daughter of Drs. Ricardo and Conchita Zalamea.

Since both were working abroad, they turned over preparations of the wedding to me. Of course, being the brother of the bride I had a special interest in making sure that this one wedding was going to the most spectacular wedding I would have for the entire 2008. I knew it was going to be a challenge but I was up for it. So I commissioned Pampanga’s top wedding videographer, Robert Canlas of Kquentors  for an OBB shoot at the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport. This is probably going to the first and last time this was going to happen in the history of the clark airport. But it was the only suitable place for the OBB given that both Bisay and Ryan worked in that environment.

The outcome of the video shoot, needless to say was magical! Dressed by Frederick Policarpio, Bisay and Ryan were stunning for the shoot and it flowed so well that the hours seemed minutes. The result that was shown during the wedding itself before the couple’s grand entrance was riveting, as the guests were swept up with the romance of it all.

Their wedding rites were held at the Lord’s Transfiguration Parish in LnS Subd, Angeles City. This was spectacularly styled and had crafted floral arrangements by Plumeria of Pancho Pantig. Pancho also created a cascading bridal bouquet of dendrobium orchids, berries, eustoma and pink hyacinths.  The bride really wanted to have hyacinths for her wedding since her name was derived from the beautiful flower. The entire church was elegantly done, befitting the taste of the newlyweds. The suit and gown of Ryan and Bisay as well as their entourage was created by Frederick Policarpio. The beautiful gown of our mom Dr. Conchita Zalamea was created specially for her by Joey Feliciano. The bride and some members of her entourage were stylized and glamourized by Francios Roxas. The ceremony was a study in perfection, from the music provided by the Voce de Angeli Choir conducted by Prof. Eric Santos.  To the cool and collected coordination by the Events and Concepts staff who came in full force for the occasion, 13 well trained and gorgeously dressed event managers who went about the area without being obtrusive.

The ceremony was officiated by Most. Rev. Pablo Virgilio S. David, D.D. and concelebrated by Re. Msgr. Antonio M. Bustos  The principal sponsors were: Mr. Baldomero P. Diasanta Jr., Mrs. Virginia B. Co, Mr. Adrian S. Garcia, Mrs. Leticia D. Flores, Mr. Steve E. Kim, Mrs. Corazon A. Joaquin, Mr. Edgar Lischer, Mrs. Josefina Zalamea-Jose, Mr. Cesar F. Madayag, Mrs. Cathalina D. Lischer, Mayor Francis L. Nepomuceno, Mrs. Grace R. Madayag, Mr. Willy C. Ong, Mrs. Rosalie H. Naguiat, Mr. Pompei D. Perez, Mrs. Herminia L. Narciso, Mr. Reghis M. Romero II, Dr. Mimosa M. Nicadao, Mr. Mark Allen C. Sison, Mrs. Aida T. Roque, Mr. Antonio G. Tan, Mrs. Maryetta D. Sibbing, Mr. Thomas Tömmler and Mrs. Annecita D. Vering.

Where to have a fabulous event such as the Farhan and Zalamea Wedding was easy enough to figure out. The Grand Palazzo Royale was perfect. Coming from Europe, Ryan was well used to palaces and glamour. Yet both Ryan and Bisay wanted to make sure that their families would be thoroughly impressed by their choices and grandeur. And they exceeded in doing just that. Their families and friends came in flying from all over the Philippines and the world just to be with the two love birds as they seal their commitment to each other. And they were not disappointed.  From music to décor, food to entertainment, outfits to preparation, the entire night was a study in flawless activity and lyrical dramatics. It was a night to remember.

Allow me to thank the people who made they event a true success.
