Jessy Mendiola is still with ABS-CBN

JESSY MENDIOLA ended the rumors circulating of her transfer to GMA by accepting “SanDugo” on ABSCBN.

She will be part of the upcoming Kapamilya drama series, starring Ejay Falcon and Aljur Abrenica.

Last Saturday, July 27, Dreamscape Enterainment AdProm Manager Eric John Salut posted a photo of Jessy undergoing a workshop with Ejay, Aljur, and Elisse Joson.

Salut wrote, “I am amazed!!!! Woohoo! #SanDugo acting workshop @ejaythefalcon @elissejosonn @ ajabrenica and @senorita_jessy”

Dreamscape Entertainment, an ABS-CBN content provider, has yet to give details about Jessy’s role in the series.

Jessy was not present during the January 31 story conference of SanDugo.

At that time, only Elisse and Maika Rivera were introduced as Ejay and Aljur’s leading ladies.

Jessy’s inclusion in SanDugo ends speculations that she will be transferring to ABS-CBN’s rival network.

The speculations started when Jessy captioned one of her Instagram posts with “old ending and new beginnings.”

It was even rumored that Jessy’s first project with GMA-7 would be The Better Woman with Andrea Torres and Derek Ramsay.

During the media conference of her movie Stranded last March 26, Jessy admitted that she became impatient after not getting any TV assignments for a long while.

Her last TV appearance was in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano in 2018, but her last regular drama series was the teleserye You’re My Home, which ended in March 2016.

She said back then, “Siyempre, naiinip po ako. Sino ba naman pong hindi? Pero kung naiinip ka man, e, di gumawa ka ng something productive o puwede mong kabisihan, like, ‘yan ang business o kung ano pang medium na puwede mong ipakita ang sarili mo.”

Still, she remained in touch with ABS-CBN, and was already given a new TV assignment.

At press time, ABS-CBN has yet to announce when SanDugo will air, but it was already part of the upcoming programs presented during the recent ABS-CBN trade launch.

ZEPHANIE DIMARANAN is the first winner of Idol Philippines!

This was announced during Idol Philippines’s live final showdown today, July 28, 2019, at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.

Zephanie bested two other Idol hopefuls who were part of the final showdown: Lucas Garcia and Lance Busa.

The original top five finalists were trimmed down to three during the first night of the final showdown.

Dan Ombao and Miguel Ordon were eliminated yesterday, July 27.

During the competition proper, the three finalists went through two rounds.

During the first round, Zephanie, Lucas, and Lance performed the song that best described their Idol journey.

For the second round, the three finalists were made to perform new, original compositions by renowned songwriters.

For the original song round, Zephanie performed “Pangarap Mong Pangarap Ko” composed by Jonathan Manalo.

Lance sang “Kapit Lang” by Jimmy Antiporda, while Lucas performed “Because You Believed” by Trina Belamide.

In the end, Zephanie got the highest score of 100%, which was based on 50 percent of the scores given by the judges, composed of Regine Velasquez, Vice Ganda, Moira dela Torre, and James Reid.

The other 50 percent came from the public votes.

Lucas got a combined score of 70.2% while Lance got 41.89%.

Zephanie won the following prizes: a recording contract from Star Music, an all-expense paid trip to Taiwan for four, a brand new house and lot, and two million pesos.

Jessica Sanchez, first runner-up of American Idol Season 11, performed on the ABS-CBN show earlier tonight.

Idol Philippines started airing on April 21, 2019. After weeks of featuring auditions, the Top 12 were chosen to compete for the live rounds.

The other seven finalists who were part of Idol Top 12 were: Matty Juniosa, Rachel Libres, Trish Bonilla, Renwick Benito, Fatima Louise, Sheland Faelnar, and Elle Ocampo.
