ANGELES CITY — The regionwide Joint Police and Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams Mobilization (JBM) Patrol System for Crime Prevention and Detection in Central Luzon was formally launched today, Aug. 14, at the Angeles City Police Office.
The initiative, spearheaded by Police Regional Office 3 director BGen. Jess B. Mendez, and also led by ACPO OIC director Col. Robert Domingo, seeks to strengthen community-based crime prevention through the AOM (Activate, Organize, and Mobilize) Framework designed to enhance the capabilities of police personnel, barangay officials, and barangay peacekeeping action teams (BPATs).
Joining the launching were PRO 3 deputy regional director for operations Col. Angel Garcillano, Regional Community Affairs and Development Division chief Col. Ferdinand D. Germino, and Regional Operations and Plans Division chief Col. Franklin Estoro, who expressed support for the strengthened community-based policing program.
Representing Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II was councilor Atty. Jeselle V. Dayrit. Also present were Association of Barangay Chairmen president Danilo Nacu, as well as representatives from the Department of the Interior and Local Government, city disaster risk reduction and management office, and Bureau of Fire Protection.
Some 350 participants representing different barangays in Angeles along with local government unit officials, and BPAT members, took part in the event and pledged their support for the said program.
The JBM Patrol System highlights the importance of shared responsibility in crime prevention by bringing police services closer to communities and empowering barangay-based peacekeeping teams.
