Japanese businessmen, labor trainors visit TESDA – Mariveles

MARIVELES, Bataan: Some Japanese businessmen and officers of labor training centers on Thursday witnessed for themselves how  the Regional Training Center Central Luzon of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority  (RTCCL – TESDA) here prepare Filipino trainees for future employment. 

Sierra E. Flores, RTCCL – TESDA administrative officer V/extension program coordinator, said the visitors inspected some tools and equipment used in the training and observed classes for trainees being conducted at the facilities of the center in Mariveles. 

She said that Roberto Dadios, president of Harmo Japan Training Center, explained that the objective of the visit was to see the facilities and learn about the ability of the trainees for possible employment opportunities in Japan. 

Takashi Miyamoto, president of the Center for the Promotion of Acceptance of Specified Skilled Workers in Japan, Flores said, made the observation that there are numerous employment opportunities in Japan and more Filipinos can be employed if they have the ability to speak the Japanese language. 

Miyamoto narrated that he visited some training centers and Japanese language schools in the Philippines but that the teaching lacks information of the Japanese history and culture. He added that Filipinos must not only learn how to speak the Japanese language but to also embrace and fully understand their traits and values.

Catherine Bamahrez, president of Hopewell Overseas Manpower Network, Inc., said that other countries like Vietnam have scholarship program for language and cultures that lasted for six months. She said that she is optimistic that the Philippine government through  TESDA, will also provide scholarship program for qualifications such as Japanese language.

Flores informed the visitors that TESDA through its women’s center in Taguig City is conducting free training for different languages. She added that RTCCL – Mariveles is presently holding Basic Japanese Language and Cultures program for 160 hours in partnership with Harmo Japan Training Center under the community-based training.

Other visitors were Lawyer Miyoko Ota, administrative Scrivener and international legal consultants; Ohta Takahiro, president of Daiwa Co. Ltd. and Gengo Nakano, president of Asunaro Co., Ltd. (30)
