HERMOSA, Bataan – This town joined Thursday Balanga City and Dinalupihan in declaring a state of calamity due to the southwest monsoon rains that brought flooding in the three areas as well as other towns in the province.
The sangguniang bayan in a videoconference passed the resolution declaring the state of calamity and approved by Mayor Antonio Joseph Inton. It was released Friday.
The resolution stated that the municipal disaster risk reduction management office has begun and initiated rescue and relief operations in barangays Cataning, Almacen, A. Rivera, Culis, Palihan, among others.
The provincial disaster risk reduction and management office in its Friday report said that 15 barangays in Hermosa were with flood waters of one to six feet deep.
Light to moderate with occasional heavy rains prevailed in most parts of the province Friday.
