CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— Gov. Lilia G. Pineda and Vice Gov. Dennis G. Pineda on Monday exhorted Kapampangans to support and continue to trust President Duterte on Monday a few hours before his State of the Nation Address.

The Pinedas led the rally at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center here where some 3,500 people, composed mostly of barangay captains and barangay tanods were gathered.

The vice governor organized the assembly to give the watchmen guidelines on how to ensure peace and order and prevent terrorist groups from creeping into their communities as well as pointers on disaster preparedness.

Gov. Pineda called for all-out support to President Duterte because of the many programs he has extended to the province.

“Nagpapasalamat tayo sa ating Pangulo dahil sa hindi napag-iiwanan ang Pampanga. Ang ating lalawigan ay isa sa mga nangunguna sa mga binibigyang prayoridad sa lahat ng mga programa ng pambansang pamahalaan. Ang mga serbisyong ito ay lubos na nakatulong at nagpa-angat sa estado ng pamumuhay ng mga Kapampangan (We are thankful to the President for not neglecting Pampanga. It is among the top provinces being given priority in all programs of the national government. These services uplift the lives of the Kapampangan),” the governor said.

She said on instructions of President Duterte, government agencies channeled programs and projects to Pampanga led by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), P137 million; Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), P664 million; Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), P160.2 million; Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), P18 million; Department of Science and Technology (DoST), P18.8 million; Department of Agriculture (DA), P74.8 million; Office of Civil Defense (OCD), P72 million; and Department of Health (DoH), P672.45 million.

But the biggest contributor is the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the governor said, which spent P3.9 billion on 291 projects in the province.

The governor said the drug war of President Duterte was “truly effective” because it has the cooperation of local officials and the citizens.

She gave the President a perfect score of 100 for doing well in his first year in office.
