MARIVELES, Bataan: The Bureau of Customs Post Clearance Audit Group (BoC – PCAG) through its Prior Disclosure program awarded GNPower Dinginin Ltd. Co. as one of the Top 10 Taxpayers in the country for year 2023.
GNPD and the other nine companies from different sectors received plaques of recognition “for their exceptional degree of compliance with the programs and policies of BoC – PCAG.”
The other awardees are CSC Time, Inc., Organon (Philippines) Inc., Abbott Laboratories Inc., Mondelez Philippines Inc., Nestle Philippines Inc., Merck Sharp & Dohme (I.A.) LLC, JT
International (Phils.) Inc., Anda Power Corporation, and Royal Canin Philippines, Inc.
The recognition was part of the annual undertaking of BoC to acknowledge the top contributors
to the agency.
Anna Jasmin Maniego, AboitizPower External Relations manager, attended the ceremony and received the award for GNPD.
AboitizPower operates GNPD and GNPower Mariveles Energy Center Ltd. Co (GMEC), two coal- fired power plants in Barangay Alas-asin in Mariveles that have both two operational units.
Unit 1 and 2 of GNPD have net capacity of 668 megawatts each or a total of 1,336 MW while Unit 1 and 2 of GMEC have net capacity of 316 MW each or total of 632 MW.
GMEC and GNPD have other equity owners but AboitizPower as of January 31, 2024 had a 78.3% effective ownership interest in GMEC and owned a 70% effective ownership interest in
GNPD.
“This achievement signifies our commitment to transparent business practices. We believe that fostering a culture of compliance is essential for the growth and sustainability of our industry,” said GNPD AVP for Community Relations Arcel Madrid.
“The recognition as one of the Top Ten Taxpayers serves as a beacon of inspiration for GNPD and other companies,” Madrid added.
BOC-PCAG assistant Commissioner Lawyer Vincent Maronilla thanked GNPD and the other awardees for their “consistent cooperation and volunteerism.” High collections of the BoC, he
said, will translate to more schools, hospitals, roads and other infrastructure projects for the
