CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Internationally acclaimed Kapampangan artist Ron Salazar unveiled his most inspiring and monumental creation to date: “Paragon of Virtue”, a breathtaking 12.5 x 10-foot sculpture crafted from tempered auto glass and stainless steel.
A visual ode to the timeless Kapampangan value of being a “mayap a tau” — a good and virtuous person — this piece reflects the strength of spirit and the beauty of moral character.
“Paragon of Virtue stands as a symbol of unwavering values in a changing world…a call to recognize the noble within ourselves and our communities,” shared Salazar.
This landmark sculpture represents not only Salazar’s greatest technical achievement but also his deepest spiritual expression.
Taking over five months to complete, “Paragon of Virtue” is a powerful fusion of art and integrity, brought to life through his mastery of fabrication and heartfelt storytelling.
A native of Santa Rita, Pampanga, Salazar first rose to prominence at the age of 22 when he won the Grand Prize in the Sculpture Category of the Art Association of the Philippines Annual Competition. Now 46, he continues to push boundaries with artworks that blend innovation, spirituality, and local pride.
In addition to his sculptural work, Salazar is renowned for creating carbon fiber car accessories for auto shows, bespoke resin tables made from local resources, and intricate stainless steel fabrications. His art is as functional as it is expressive, merging form, function, and feeling.
