ANGELES CITY – “This marks a new beginning for all of you. May all the experiences and learnings you gained be instilled within you as you pursue greater endeavors in life.”

Thus said incumbent city councilor and Partido Abe Kapampangan (AbeKa) Vice Mayoral aspirant Edgardo “Edu” Pamintuan Jr. as he leads 36 beneficiaries here to their graduation rites held Thursday at Robinsons Mall Angeles.

The graduates are beneficiaries of the skills training program rendered by the Public Employment and Services Program (PESO) in partnership with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Junior Chambers International Angeles City Culiat (JCI Angeles City Culiat).

A total of 22 individuals from Cosmetology and 14 from Dressmaking graduated from their respective courses.

“Guiding you all throughout your journey is such a pleasure and seeing you all graduating today is making us all proud. We seek to convince more Angeleños to be part of this program and help them grow in their own zone just the way you all did,” Pamintuan said in his inspirational message.

The city government through PESO has been extending skills training courses to the citizens of Angeles regardless of age. To date, the agency offers courses on Housekeeping, Dressmaking, Beauty Care, Events Management, Cookery, Bread and Pastry making and English Proficiency.

In her remarks to the graduates, PESO Manager Maria Rosa Basilio said the cooperation of TESDA and JCI Angeles Culiat to provide technical skills training will spur chances of employment opportunities to the beneficiaries in the future.

Meanwhile, the graduates from two courses were able to showcase their crafts and skills through a fashion show. The graduates with the best creations were also recognized during the moving-up ceremony.

Valedictory Addresses were also delivered by Lolita Arca from Beauty Care and Reshien Valencia from Dressmaking who topped this year’s batch of skills trainees.

Councilors Pamintuan, Amos Rivera and Jericho Aguas thanked the partner agencies for their unwavering support to the city government’s skills development programs.
