CLARK FREEPORT – A totally new mobility experience will be launched at the New Clark City (NCC) in time for the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games this coming November.
The electric kick board (commonly known as scooter) will be introduced into a ride sharing service aptly called “Ridee” which offers mobility service that is ecologically friendly, comfortable, affordable, safety and fun.
This developed after the Philippines-based Mobility Service Provider PT Autozentrum Inc. (PTA) signed a partnership with the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) in order to provide the public with an enhanced mobility experience at NCC.
“This partnership is a great opportunity to start an innovative means of urban transportation in the Philippines beginning at its new and smart metropolis, New Clark City,” said PTA CEO Alfred Roa. He added that “Ridee” is part of PTA’s mission to provide comfortable mobility for everyone.
“It is our pleasure to support BCDA through this project. We plan to expand rapidly in other strategic places within the country soon,” Roa said.
BCDA president-CEO Vince Dizon noted that this service is in line with the inclusive character of NCC, the country’s first smart, green and fully- resilient metropolis.
“We are glad to offer the people a new mobility experience that is comfortable and convenient during the SEA Games, while being protective of the environment,” he added.
“We thank PTA for supporting our commitment of building cities for people. The walkable and bikeable New Clark City is the perfect place for this service,” Dizon stressed.
The NCC-Phase 1A which is 99 percent complete, houses the SEA Games-ready Athletics Stadium and Aquatics Center. Out of the 530 sports events slated for the biennial games, 92 will take place at NCC.
