ORION, Bataan — A 60-year-old suspected top target personality in drugs here died after he allegedly fought with police operatives serving a search warrant Saturday before noon.

Chief Inspector Eduardo Guevarra, Orion police chief, said David Nunez of Teachers’ Village in Barangay Sto. Domingo in Orion, pulled his gun and shot at arriving police officers.

“Upang maipagtanggol ang aming mga sarili, gumanti kami ng putok at napatay si Nunez,” he said.

Scene of the Crime Operatives and Orion police investigators recovered a .38 revolver with live bullets, spent shells, 18 sachets of shabu, two packs of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia from the suspect, the police chief said.

The victim’s body lay sprawled about two meters away from his fenced hut located adjacent to ricelands.

“Matagal na naming minamanmanan si Nunez bilang isang top drug personality. Matagal na siyang nasa listahan namin bilang pusher,” Guevarra said.

The old man became the 14th victim in shootouts with police in drug-related cases in Bataan this month.
