IBA, Zambales – Joint elements of the Zambales police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested six suspects who yielded P100,000 worth of shabu in anti-drug operations in Subic town Sunday.
The target of operations was a suspected drug den at No. 32 National Highway, Purok 4, Barangay Matain in Subic.
Report from the office of Zambales police director Col. Romano Velayo Cardiño said that at about 4 p.m., operatives of PDEA-3, the Subic police and provincial drug enforcement units conducted the buy-bust that led to the arrest of the alleged drug den maintainer Renato Galote y Oquendo, 54, and suspects Alma Noble y Macasieb, 46, and Roxanne Manalo y Gacias, 30 both of Matain, Subic;
Phillip Escorton y Vinculado, 38, of Sta. Monica Subdivision Sto. Tomas, Subic; Rey Eugenio y Bautista, 33, of Cawag, Subic; and Ener Monar y Diaz, 47, of Purok 3, Barretto, Olongapo City.
Seized from the suspects were five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu weighing more or less 15 grams amounting to P102,000; several drug paraphernalia; and one P500 bill used as buy-bust money.
The suspects now face charges for violations of Section 5, 6, 7, 13, 14 and 15, Article II of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
“With the constant arrest of illegal drug personalities as well as the unremitting commitment of the police to stop its proliferation, illegal drug traders will have less opportunity to propagate illegal drugs here in Zambales,” said Cardiño as he commended his men for their accomplishment.
