CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Department of Public Works and Highways donated one portable swab test booth to the Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital.
In a statement, Secretary Mark Villar said the donated swab test booth has the capability of testing two persons simultaneously.
“It was manufactured by the Bureau of Equipment headed by Director Toribio Noel Ilao and delivered to the hospital which is located in City of San Fernando, Pampanga today,” Villar added.
The booth is equipped with safety features that would minimize actual physical contact of healthcare workers undertaking the testing procedure with the person being examined.
“It has infection control feature to protect patients and healthcare workers with complete mechanical exhaust system and negative pressure room, which prevents cross contamination between rooms,” said Undersecretary Emil Sadain, head of the DPWH Task Force to Facilitate Augmentation of Health Facility.
JBLMRH has a molecular and diagnostic pathology laboratory, also known as the pandemic sub-national reference laboratory, which is the first Covid-19 testing facility in Central Luzon. — Carlo Lorenzo J. Datu/PIA-3
