CITY OF SAN FERNANDO– Jailed Globe Asiatique President Delfin Lee has challenged Vice Pres. Jejomar Binay to a debate in the Senate “for us to let out the truth and find out who is lying.” "Vice Pres. Binay, face me in the Senate.

Ilabas po natin ang katotohanan at magkaalaman na tayo kung sino po and sinungaling sa atin,” Lee said in a post in the Globe Asiatique Facebook account at 6 p.m.

Tuesday. Lee’s chief legal counsel Willie Rivera confirmed to Punto! that it was Lee who posted the challenge to Binay through his staff, as Lee had no access to the internet at the provincial jail here where he has remained detained on charges of syndicated estafa allegedly involving P6.6 billion funds of the Pag-IBIG Fund.

Addressing Binay, Lee said “kailangan ko pa pong magpa-subpoena sa Senate para lang masabi ko ang totoo.

Humarap din po kayo (I need to be asked to be subpoenaed by the Senate to tell the truth. Face the Senate, too).”

“Kung tunay po kay ong tapat sa tao, harapin n’yo ako sa Seando at doon n’yo patunayan and mga bintang n’yo sa akin (If you are true to the people, face me at the Senate and prove there all your allegations against me),” he said.

Lee reminded Binay that “you have always said that you are being a victim of politicking. I am not a politician but isn’t it true that your politicking is victimizing me?” “That is what you are doing to me, you are using me in politics to boost your popularity,” he said.

Lee reiterated in his post that he had been “dealing with Pag-IBIG Fund for 20 years without negative record nor any debt.” “But when you (Binay) assumed post, I suddenly became a scam artist in less than a month. The fact is that Globe Asiatique had even been a top performer.

Your agency had used by projects as models to lure buyers and borrowers. Instead of supporting me, you sought loopholes to create a scam without basis,” he also said. Lee recalled that only recently, Binay declared that none of the testimonies against him, Binay, on alleged anomalies in Makati City projects would stand in court and that the charges against him had made a circus of the Senate.

He reminded Binay that “we have met each other in nine cases filed before the Court of Appeals before nine divisions with 27 justices. You did not win, all the decisions favored Globe Asiatique.” Again, Lee reiterated in his post “Vice Pres. Binay, let us face each other in the Senate.

Our fight before the Court of Appeals is over. Why do you refuse to release the titles? Why did you shut down Xevera (housing projects of Globe Asiatique in Pampanga)? Why are you making things difficult for the people ?”

“It is time to open up the truth about the dark politics that you have started,” Lee added. Rivera earlier said that the charges filed against Lee were politically motivated amid plans of Binay to run for president in 2016.

He noted that the charges against Lee had no basis as all loans granted by Pag-IBIG for those seeking housing packages at Xevera projects were collateralized and that all the beneficiaries were first granted clearance by Pag-IBIG.
