DAR delivers condonation certificates to Mexico farmers

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Twenty Certificates of Condonation with Release of Mortgage (COCROM) condoning P1,678,712.40 in debt were distributed by the Department of Agrarian Reform-Pampanga to 15 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARB) from Mexico, Pampanga on May 13.

Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Engr. Emmanuel G. Aguinaldo said the COCROM distribution is in line with the implementation of RA 11953 (New Agrarian Emancipation Act) aimed to aimed to provide relief to ARBs through the condonation of agrarian-related debts, allowing farmer-beneficiaries to fully enjoy the ownership of the lands awarded to them under the government’s agrarian reform program.

DAR issued the COCROMs which were annotated on the Emancipation Patents or Certificates of Land Ownership Award of qualified beneficiaries. Following the annotation, the Registry of Deeds registered the updated land titles in accordance with existing agrarian reform laws and policies.

 

The recipients of the COCROMs a land area of 14.4642 hectares were Barangay San Jose Malino with condoned debt amounting to P1,455,438.94 and Barangay Culubasa with P223,273.46.

As part of the activity held at DAR-Pampanga office, a briefing on the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) Project was conducted to inform its participants about the objectives, processes, and benefits of the program, particularly in securing individual land titles for ARBs

Also in attendance were Maria Eloisa T. Morales, Land Tenure Security head; Ramon L. Dungca, caretaker-provincial chief administrative officer; Atty. Neil Marius Argel, chief of the Legal Division; Christine D. Bonifacio, caretaker-chief agrarian reform program officer, Program Beneficiaries Development Division; and Terence A.
