CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – A total of 214 health workers belonging to the A1.6 and A1.7 priority grouping received their second dose of Sinovac Tuesday, the city health office said.
This followed their first jab in the last week of March where a total of 1,765 healthcare community members got inoculated.
Tuesday last week, April 20, the CHO also started giving first jabs of Sinovac vaccines to the senior citizens or the second priority group. A total of 1,652 seniors were vaccinated after a three-day rollout.
At the moment, the local government is waiting for the vaccines from the national government so it can resume the vaccination rollout for 44,808 seniors in San Fernando who have expressed willingness to be vaccinated.
Meanwhile, Dr. Iris Rose Muñoz, National Immunization Program (NIP) Manager, reminded the vaccinated Fernandinos that they can still catch Covid-19 if they don’t follow the minimum health standards.
The LGU is also in talks with the Our Lady of Fatima University for the establishment of a second vaccination site that could cater to a greater number of Fernandinos.
