CABANATUAN CITY –– A 43-year-old soldier who might have been exposed to a companion was the lone confirmed case of coronavirus disease in Nueva Ecija on Monday.
The soldier, a resident of Barangay Paladinan, Cabiaotown, was a frontliner, according to the Nueva Ecija inter-agency task force. He underwent examination at V. Luna Medical Center where he was admitted on July 6.
This raised the confirmed Covid-19 cases in the province to 105, of which 68 have recovered and four died.
Led by Gov. Aurelio Umali, the task force urged the people to comply with prescribed health protocols as the nation continues battling Covid—19, such as wearing face mask, disinfecting, and physical distancing.
Meanwhile, Palayan City has maintained its zero Covid-19 status, according to the city health office
The city government was the first local government unit to undertake targeted mass testing among residents amid strict implementation of quarantine protocols.
