BALANGA CITY — The Bataan Inter-agency Task Force on Covid–19 on Tuesday night reported that there are now 11 patients confirmed positive of the coronavirus disease in the province.
IATF chair Gov. Albert Garcia said that per report of provincial health officer Dr. Rosanna Buccahan, the latest patient is a 13-year–old male from Barangay Dangcol here.
The teenage boy was hospitalized Wednesday for appendicitis but was found positive of the virus when subjected to swabbing, the governor said.
The IATF report showed that Balanga City registered with the most number of confirmed cases at five, including city administrator Rudy de Mesa who died at a Pampanga hospital last Friday. He was the first death from Covid–19 in Bataan.
The towns of Orani, Samal, Abucay, Orion, Limay, and Mariveles have one positive case of the deadly virus each.
Garcia announced the good news that PH529, male, 55,of Orion has recovered, turning to three the number of those who were discharged from their hospital confinement.
The other two are PH64, M-32, of Orani and PH303, M-24, from Limay. The three of them are undergoing post-admission quarantine in a facility designated by the Department of Health. After 14 days they will be again tested, the governor said.
In its report 5:05 p.m. of Tuesday, the task force indicated that there are 5,860 persons under monitoring, 715 “mild” persons under investigation and 92 moderate to severe PUIs in the province.
