Cops capture private army camp

    IBA, Zambales – The Zambales police has captured an alleged private army camp owned by a local mining company following the arrest of at least 10 fully armed men.

    Zambales Police Provincial Office (ZPPO) Director Sr. Supt. Rolando Felix said there are no reported casualties but his troops are still tracking down several others who allegedly escaped during the firefight.

    He said suspects were reportedly fully equipped with various high caliber weapons, ammunitions, communication facilities and other war gadgets during the 3- day encounter which started late afternoon of May 13 in Sitio Matalisbong, uisguis, Sta. Cruz, Zambales, Sunday, police said.

    Arrested suspects were identified as Ronald P. de Vera, 46, B2 8L18 Japan St. San Jose del Monte City in Bulacan; Diosdado S. Ulep , 44, a former army Staff sergeant and resident of Maycaban, Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija; Johnny E. Vidal, 51, an ex-CAFGU of Lipay, Sta. Cruz, Zambales; Alfredo A. Dalaodao,58, former soldier and resident of Barangay Mabanglit, Cabangan, Zambales; Julito D. Domacena,53, resident of Sitio Bucao, Porac, Botolan town; Josefino C. Balintay, 37, resident of Sitio Villar Loob-Bunga Resettlement Area, Botolan; Daniel A. Peralta, 53, of Barrio Pattao, Buguey, Cagayan; John Ric Marave, 21,Barrio Doliman, Infanta, Pangasinan; Fernando F. Valdez, 53, of Mabanglit, Cabangan town and Ernie D. Bulatao,  40,  resident of Sitio Bucao, Banrangay Porac in Botolan town.

    Report said all suspects are reportedly working as security guards under 1st Line Security and Protection Agency base in Metro-Manila.

    Recovered from their possessions include four AK-47 assault rifles; one browning automatic rifle; one M-14 armalite rifle; five of armscor shotgun; volumes of magazines of different caliber and live ammunition; 2 sets of motorola I-com radios; battery chargers; flashlights; cell phones and war vests.

    Suspects were brought to ZPPO for questioning. They were later brought to the provincial jail pending their trial for “direct assault upon an agent of a person in authority with attempted murder and with the use of unlicensed firearms before the Provincial Prosecutors Office here.
