SAMAL, Bataan — Municipal and city election officers in Bataan on Saturday got out of their offices and attended to registering voters in village halls.
“Ongoing registration ito ng Commission on Elections (Comelec). Nagpupunta kami sa bawat barangay sa tinatawag na satellite registration para sa May 13, 2019 national elections,” Samal municipal election officer Maritess Salvador said.
Attended to at the village hall in Santa Lucia were residents not only of the barangay but also those from Ibaba, two neighboring barangays in Samal.
Santa Lucia barangay chairman Roberto “Hector” Forbes welcomed the holding of the satellite registration in his village, saying it will save time and money for the residents.
“We accept transfers, new registration, correction of entries and change of status,” Salvador said.
She said that the activity was part of the poll body’s ongoing registration in the country for the May 2019 elections that started July 2, 2018.
Satellite registrations went on the whole day in the towns of Dinalupihan, Hermosa, Orani, Samal, Abucay, Pilar, Orion, Limay, Mariveles, Bagac and Morong and the City of Balanga.
Last day of registration is September 29, 2018.
