SAMAL, Bataan: The Commission on Elections continued conducting nationwide voter’s education and demonstration on the use of new voting machines known as Automated Counting Machine (ACM) for the May 2025 elections like here Friday.
Residents and village officials of Barangay Tabing-Ilog welcomed the move of Comelec. Gregorio Romero, Jr., 78, and other villagers who participated in the voting demonstration, said the new counting machine was alright.
Barangay chairman Glenn Velasco said “maayos ang demo at naipaliwanag ng maayos ang mga pagbabago. Mabilis naman kaya natutuwa ang aking mga kabarangay na magiging maayos ang kanilang pagboto. May transparency. Maganda ginagawa ng Comelec.”
Samal municipal election officer Maribeth Abadecio said that they are conducting voter’s education and demonstration on the ACM for the local and national elections on May 12, 2025
“Sa ating machine proud kami dahil ilang beses na din naming na-try ito sa pagdedemo pati ang ating mga kababayan ay nasaksihan naman ito. Enjoy naman sila at natutuwa sila dahil ang laki daw talaga ng pagbabago,” she said.
“Marami ang pagbabago, mas mabilis siya, may auto alignment ang ating machine at ang ating voter receipt hindi na nangangailangan ng scissor para gupitin and so far lahat naman ng ating kababayan na nag-try are na-satisfied, gusto nila at hanga sila sa machine dahil nga ang laki ng pagkakaiba. Mas mabilis daw at accurate base sa kanilang mga ibinoto sa demo,” Abadecio continued.
She also announced that Comelec has approved early voting hour for two hours from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. for priority groups like senior citizens, persons with disabilities and pregnant women.
Included in the group are assistors of the priority groups who are voters in the same polling precinct. The early voting hour is in addition to the regular voting from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (30)
