This, amid another arrest warrant issued by the First Division of the Sandiganbayan against her on a case of plunder for the allegedmisuse of Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office intelligence funds.

Last Wednesday afternoon, Ang Galing Pinoy party list Rep. Mikey Arroyo filed before the provincial Commission on Elections (Comelec) in behalf of his mother her certificate of candidacy in her bid for re-election.

“We will cross the bridge when we get there,” said Mikey , when asked whether his mother’s health would not adversely affect herperformance in a second term. Arroyo named Lakas as her party.

Mikey stressed that his mother “need not be physically presentin delivering services. What is important is that she would still be able to deliver services to her constituents.”

A candidate for councilor in Porac, within Arroyo’s district, said that before the filing, the former President was with local candidates  and Zambales Rep. Mitos Magsaysay for a lunch-meeting atthe Plates and Platters Restaurant in Guagua, but she was apparently not feeling well.

The candidate, who asked not to be named as he was notauthorized to issue any statement in behalf of Arroyo, said the former President stayed seated most of the time and excused herself from delivering any message during the meeting.

Asked about the health of his mother, Mikey replied “You should ask her doctors.”

Comelec provincial supervisor Lydia Pangilinan said Mikey had the proper authorization to file the COC of his mother.

Some 30 supporters, including elders wearing T-shirts marked “We love CGMA” and members of the Banda 31 band from Sasmuan town, arrived at the provincial office of the Comelec at the provincial Capitol grounds at about 1 p.m. for Arroyo’s arrival.

Mikey, together with the children of Gov. Lilia Pineda, including Dennis who will reportedly run for vice governor alongside his mother, and his sister Lubao Mayor Mylene Pineda-Cayabyab arrived at about 2:30 p.m.
