CDC orders all public events in Clark postponed

CLARK FREEFORT The Clark Development Corp. has ordered the postponement of all public events at this freeport until further notice.

Immediately affected by the order is the Aurora 2020 food and music festival, hot air balloon display and night glow scheduled at the Clark Global City on March 13-14, 2020.

The CDC memorandum circular marked OP 20-03-07 signed by CDC president-CEO Noel F. Manankil was issued in accordance with Presidential Proclamation No. 922, Series of 2020 or the declaration of a State of Public Health Emergency.

Government agencies and local government units are hereby given authority to immediately act to prevent loss of life, utilize appropriate resources to implement urgent and critical measures to contain or prevent the spread of Covid-19, mitigate its effects and impact to the community, and prevent serious disruption of the functioning of the government and the community,quoted Manankils memo of the presidential proclamation as its basis.

It specifically cited Section 4 of the proclamation, thus: All citizens, residents, tourists and establishmentowners are urged to act within the bounds of law and to comply with the lawful directives and advisories to be issued by appropriate government agencies to prevent further transmission of the Covid-19 and ensure the safety and wellbeing of all.

Another big event at the Clark Freeport that stands to be postponed is the Clark Triathlon Classic set on April 15, 2020 at the Fontana Leisure Parks.
